Interactive Design Methods
Beatties World of Printing provide a very special service in the area of design, be it a business logo or
other graphic. The methods used are not expensive, yet give results superior to many others. How this
is done is outlined below.
INTERACTIVE CONSULTATION: A one-on-one discussion of
up to half an hour, often with pen and paper, kick-starts the
process. This establishes your colour preferences, the general
feel of the graphic, where it will mostly be used, etc. Any
questions you have will also be answered at this time. For
example, will the proposed design be expensive to print on
stationery? Can it be reproduced successfully in grayscale
newspaper print? The resulting information is referenced as your
initial design is drawn up.
ONE DESIGN: While many designers quickly pump out three or
four potential designs with varying themes (hoping one will, by
chance, be to your liking), Beatties work, from the start, on one
carefully planned design
based upon the very informative initial discussion. This custom
design is then modified based upon your feedback until it's
complete.
NO CLIPART: Despite being a common time-saving practice,
Beatties do not use mass-produced clipart. Your artwork will be
100% custom designed.
LOW COST: For logos, a small fee of $220.00 is charged at the
outset. This may be all
you pay. It covers up to
four hours of design
work and the final
supply of your logo. If
you wish to make many
changes or change the
over-all concept mid-stream, this may then begin to affect
the end price. But you will be informed of this before it
happens.
For other artwork, you will be given either a quote up front
or charged an hourly fee. Either way, you will find the
design process far less costly than many are accustomed
to paying.
SUPPLY OF ARTWORK: When you are completely
happy with your artwork, it will be supplied to you in the appropriate format(s). In the case of a logo, it
will be supplied in a number of formats suitable for different uses.
RIGHTS OF USE: Beatties do not believe in holding onto rights of use. Once the design is handed
over to you, it is yours to use in any way you wish. A nominal fee may be charged to supply you or your
designated third party with the artwork if that's requested.
